Triund Trek is near Mcleodganj, Dharamshala, India. We decided to trek to Triund during Monsoon season – it ended very wet! What started as a sunny June day turned into a nightmare storm, leaving us stuck on the trail!
If you’re interested in what monsoon season in Dharamsala/Dharamkot/Bhagsu looks like – check this out.
The Triund Trek is at the foot of the Dhauladhar Mountain Ranges and is at an altitude of 2850m / 9350 ft. From here you can see all the way to Mcleodganj, Dharamkot, Bhagsu and on a clear day to Dharamsala and even Kangra Valley. The trail is approximately 6km and should take 3-5hrs, or the whole day if you want to stop a lot – the views are worth it! From Triund you can see across beautiful green pastures to the Dhauladhar Mountain Ranges, from here you can camp or trek further to the Inderahar Pass Trek.
