The Hidden kingdom pilgrimage

Experience the hidden trails of ancient yogis

The Hidden Kingdom Pilgrimage takes you on a journey into the wildest Himalayas, to the borders of Tibet, and a land that exists outside of time.

This pilgrimage is deeply transformative, igniting a sense of wonder that will make everything else, all the complications of life, fade into insignificance..

Only stillness and the divine exist here.

Our journey starts from the lower part of Mustang,Nepal’s ‘Wild West’ and home of Tibetan Buddhism, and extends west in the direction of Mount Kailash, the home of Lord Shiva. In this land everyone is connected to Nature and the gods.

Each step serves as a reminder of Shiva, with every village dedicated to a specific yogi or monk. In this land, everyone is connected to nature and the gods.

This land allows the mind to settle and become still and for this reason many yogis and monks have settled here, hoping to achieve Samadhi.

This is the final limb of attainment in the Patanjali Yoga Sutras and the Eightfold Path of Buddhism. It is a highly advanced state of meditation, a state of complete absorption, one step before Moksha, or spiritual freedom from the cycles of rebirth.

As monks or yogis journeyed, their followers trailed behind, settling wherever the monk decided to take his Samadhi so these villages carry yogic tales. Each one is dedicated to a specific yogi or monk. Every step of the way serves as a reminder of Shiva and as we follow in these holy footsteps this journey will encourage a profound change, showing you the power of a peaceful mind.

Many yogis and monks have come to this land to achieve Samādhi, as the environment allows the mind to settle and become still, and while we will likely be a long way away from attaining Samādhi, this journey will encourage profound change, and show you the power of a peaceful mind.

Our destination for this pilgrimage lies in the hidden kingdom of Upper Mustang so it requires a special permit to enter this region.

If you desire to explore the ancient sites of eastern religions, experience the mind-opening landscape and culture of the upper Himalayas, and access a tranquil state of mind that brings clarity, acceptance and growth, then this pilgrimage is for you.

Find Inner Peace and Balance

A place that tourists don't see

Seeking places to meditate and enter Samādhi, the locals transformed these spots into places of worship, marked by stupas or chortens. We will follow the trail of these spiritual hotspots, through villages and vast valleys, to find ourselves.

Along the way, I will lead you through daily yoga and meditation practices, and tell you the stories of this ancient land and the yogis who inspired me to come here many years ago. I hope they will find a place in your heart too.

We will need at least ten days to do this pilgrimage, but I have also taken serious practitioners for a month of sadhana (spiritual practice). Pilgrimages are highly personal and I tailor them to the pilgrim (you!).

Please see the FAQ page for details of accommodation, food, what to bring and other logistical questions. If you can't find an answer to your question, please feel free to contact me using the form below.
